In the Quran, Allah ta'ala
says,
the likeness of His light is as a niche wherein
is a lamp; the lamp is encased in a glass. The glass is like a brilliant
star. It is lit from a blessed tree, an olive tree that is neither of the
East nor the West. It is as if its oil would give light even if fire had
not touched it. Light upon light. And Allah guides to His light whom
He pleases. [This lamp] is in houses that Allah has permitted to be erected
wherein His name is oft-remembered. They glorify Him in them in the early
morning and evening, men who are not distracted by commerce and trading
from the remembrance of Allah. (24: 35-37)
Also, Allah, Exalted is He, swears an oath, saying, "By the Fig and
the Olive, and by
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is reported to have said, "Anoint
yourselves with olive oil because it comes from a blessed tree." In
his book on the qualities of the Prophet, peace be upon him, Imam Tirmidhi
mentions that it was reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, used
so much olive oil that his shawl was often saturated with it.

YUSUFALI: And in the earth are tracts (diverse though)
neighbouring, and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn,
and palm trees - growing out of single roots or otherwise: watered with
the same water, yet some of them We make more
excellent than others to eat. Behold, verily in these things there are
signs for those who understand!

YUSUFALI: It is He who sends down rain from the sky: from
it ye drink, and out of it (grows) the vegetation on which ye feed your
cattle.

out all that He wills.

you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits:

and Who sends you down rain from the sky? Yea, with it We cause to grow well-planted orchards full of beauty of delight:
it is not in your power to cause the growth of the trees in them. (Can

the ocean (were ink), with seven oceans behind it to add to its (supply),
yet would not the words of Allah be exhausted (in the writing): for Allah
is Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.

! yet different (in variety): when they
begin to bear fruit, feast your eyes with the fruit and the ripeness thereof.
Behold! in these things there are signs for people

garden with date-palms and vines and streams flowing underneath, and all
kinds of fruit, while he is stricken with old age, and his children are
not strong (enough to look after themselves)- that it should be caught
in a whirlwind, with fire therein, and be burnt up? Thus doth Allah make
clear to you (His) Signs; that ye may co! nsider.

orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth

the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed)
in a record clear (to those who can read).
