About Care for God's Creation

Care for God's Creation organizes biennial interfaith conferences and other training programs. Each conference promotes an appreciation of the deep religious foundation for environmentalism and an understanding of the science underpinning ecological concern.

Previous conferences explored Spirituality and Environmental Stewardship (2002), The Blessing of Water (2004), and The Tree of Life (2006). The 2008 conference, The Breath of Life, invited participants to explore the scientific and spiritual dimensions of breath...air...wind...spirit: words from the Holy Books of the Abrahamic faiths and from everyday life. Air--such an ephemeral yet essential element of life, too often taken for granted. We breathe without having to think; until very recently, humanity's effect on the air we breathe was largely unthinking as well. As people of faith we need to recommit ourselves to caring for God's creation, including the air we breathe, and work to mitigate global climate change, seeking eco-justice for all those impacted. The Breath of Life will provide unique commentary from scientific, Jewish, Christian and Muslim perspectives. Contact us here.
